Philip Flanagan at Belén Ferrier, Geneva, Switzerland

In March 2013 Philip Flanagan will exhibit fourteen acrylics on canvas with Belén Ferrier.

The finished works, although abstract, are landscape based, but I suggest rather than describe the topography of the landscape, selecting elements which sum up the whole. The paintings are a contour of my feelings, an emotional response to a setting, a psychological territory, where colour and line are used to convey a mood or energy that embodies the territory traversed. I strive to capture the inherent light of the landscape through a process of reduction, searching for an overall simplicity that will convey its true meaning.

Bronze Portrait of Richard Griffiths, Actor

This is a portrait I made of Richard several years ago.
I was very sorry to learn of his death, he was a wonderful person to be with, clever and humourous.
